We are a small, family-owned start-up with a diverse portfolio of offerings and clients. We began (and still focus on) providing high-quality customized training to government, corporate, and individual clients. We have recently entered the support and custom development market serving small to medium sized businesses. We are just over a year old as a company but the existing team has over 26 years in the technology industry.

Job Role

The primary role of the System Administrator will be for the implementation and daily support of all internal and client systems. You will be responsible for implementing and maintaining a wide range of systems for multiple clients. You will wear many hats and fulfill many roles as part of a fast-growing startup. High motivation, strong skills, and an unstoppable desire to learn and grow are essential.

Job Summary

  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Practice extreme diligence in handling data, business-critical systems, and security.
  • Maintain current knowledge of security and administrative best practices.
  • Install, manage, and troubleshoot workstations and servers.
  • Document all actions and develop knowledge base articles.
  • Assist development team in programming and administrative roles.
  • Provide customer support via phone, chat, email, and in person.
  • Travel to client sites as needed.
  • Evening, weekend, and on-call hours as needed.
  • Participate in regular training and certification.
  • And, of course, other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years experience in a lead or solo role.
  • Extensive Linux server experience.

Extensive experience supporting hosting environments essential, SaaS experience helpful.

  • Experience supporting Microsoft Server.
  • Experience supporting diverse hosted clients on multiple platforms.
  • Fluency in English and exceptional verbal and written skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity, and patience.
  • Experience supporting VoIP helpful.
  • Strong, broad technical fluency.
  • Zimbra Collaboration Suite, Exchange Server, or similar highly desirable.
